Muting a video is the quickest fix for three common problems: background noise you can't clean up, music that would get the post taken down, and conversation in the background that shouldn't be shared.
This tool removes the audio track entirely rather than turning the volume down, so there is nothing left in the file to recover. That matters when the reason for muting is privacy rather than aesthetics.
Removing audio also shrinks the file, usually by about a megabyte per minute. If size is the real goal, the compressor gives you far more control.
